Verge Steger (March, 16, 1862 to Aug. 25, 1931) was one of the six Steger brothers who left Moscow, Tennessee in 1881 to settle in Fannin County. Verge became a merchant in Bonham. He also added culture to the town.
In the 1890's he opened the Steger Opera House which was located on the corner of 6th. and North Center Streets.He secured a patent on the bricks that were used in building the opera house.
He was married to Anna Tepee and later to Ella Tepee. Their children were Gertrude, Douglas and Hemmis.
